Below are explanations of different metrics in the Truck Efficiency section:

Truck Efficiency Cards

AVG Dwell Time

  • Dwell time = the time where no work is being done (loading/unloading)

Dock Management -- Truck Visit Breakdown, AVG Truck Visit Breakdown (Truck Assignment Time + Loading Time + Departure Time)

Dock Management View
Dock Management View

NOTE: The difference between the Avg. Truck Visit Breakdown and the Avg. Carrier Visit Breakdown is the truck visit breakdown includes all the trailer sessions - including ones that do not have a trailer assignment (carriers not associated to these)

  • Pre-Dwell Facility = Assignment Timestamp to Leveler Deployed Timestamp

    • Subtle change

  • Loading Time = Leveler Deployed to Leveler Stored

    • Loading time can also be calculated by Forklift Engaged time - example below of Cheney Brothers - Riviera Beach displaying a loading time based on Forklift Sensors

      • Cheney Brothers - Riviera Beach

      • Dock Sensors Provisioned

        • Door Sensor

        • Truck Presence Sensor

        • Forklift Sensor

  • Post Dwell Facility = Leveler Stored to Truck Departure Timestamp

    • Subtle change

Enterprise -- AVG Truck Visit Breakdown (Truck Assignment Time + Transit to Dock + Facility Dwell + Loading Time + Facility Dwell + Driver Dwell + Departure Time)

  • Pre-Dwell Driver = Assignment Timestamp to Trailer Present Timestamp

  • Pre-Dwell Facility = Trailer Present Timestamp to Leveler Deployed Timestamp

  • Loading Time = Leveler Deployed to Leveler Stored

    • Loading time can also be calculated by Forklift Engaged time - example below of Cheney Brothers - Riviera Beach displaying a loading time based on Forklift Sensors

      • Cheney Brothers - Riviera Beach

      • Dock Sensors Provisioned

        • Door Sensor

        • Truck Presence Sensor

        • Forklift Sensor

  • Post Dwell Facility = Leveler Stored to Truck Restraint Disengaged

  • Post Dwell Driver = Truck Restraint Disengaged to Truck Departure Timestamp

Truck Restraint Use

Truck Restraint Rate

  • Include only Sessions with Restraint

Truck Restraint Use (Restrained Trucks + Unrestrained Trucks)

  • 11 docks facility with 10 restraints… 50 trucks that go to that dock

  • 10 of them have restraint sensor:  Total Trucks at Docks with Restraint = 10

  • Of the 10 docks with restraints, 4 of them engaged the restraint safety sensor = 40% restraint trucks

  • Total restrained trucks = 4

Median Dwell Time

Dock Management / Enterprise

  • Median Dwell Time = Trailer Assigned to Leveler Deployed + Leveler Stored to Trailer Depart

Dock Detention Fees

  • The detention threshold and the amount of fees are defined for each Carrier, if the duration of the truck session is over threshold, then the difference between session duration and detention threshold is multiplied by the amount of fees. Then we sum all fees for sessions over the lifetime threshold for each Dock.

AVG Dock Detention Fees

  • For each Carrier the lifetime threshold and the amount of fees are defined, if the duration of the truck session is over threshold, then the difference between session duration and lifetime threshold is multiplied by the amount of fees. Then we sum all fees for sessions over the lifetime threshold and divide by the number of Docks.
