Credentials are used to grant access at the designated location based on the group’s permissions. myQ Enterprise is compatible with many kinds of credentials like cards, barcodes, RFID tags, and transmitters to manage access.
A user profile must be created, and credentials assigned for anyone or any asset that needs to be granted access to the facility or to the myQ Enterprise web portal. Profiles can be created, updated or changed on the People tab and Credentials are managed on the Credentials tab. Existing credentials can be assigned to a new employee when creating their profile on the People tab.
Former Employees that should not be allowed access to the facility can be suspended on the People tab. It is very important to NOT DELETE the user. Instead, choose to suspend the user under the status column on the People page.
Assigning or Adding a New Credential
myQ Enterprise is compatible with many kinds of credentials like cards, barcodes, RFID tags, and transmitters to manage access. In this case, both badges and RFID tags are used.

Assigning a Credential
Credentials that have been created can be assigned to a user on their profile (see People) or assigned while on the credentials page. To assign a credential, use the search bar to find it or arrange your credential table by “Assigned to” and click assign.
Credentials can only be assigned if the intended user exists. If it does not yet exist, you can assign the credential to their profile when it is created.

Adding a Credential
Click the Add Credential button.

Select the Type of Credential (Card, RFID_Tags_Other_Mfgs, or Transmitter)
Choose the Credential's Format. In most cases, this will be 26-bit
For 26 and 30-bit credentials, you can choose to ignore Facility Codes by checking the box Ignore Facility Code.
For HID 37-bit and Transcore 37-bit credentials, enter the Facility Code.
Enter the ID number printed on the credential into the Card Number field.
For a new set of badges or multiple sequential credentials to create, use the Bulk Load check box. The first and last credential numbers are required
Enter the card's Internal Number in the Offset Field.
The offset is an internal hidden number that prevents someone from just making a copy of the credential to use on the site. If the credential has no offset, this value is normally left at "0". If this is the case, skip this step.
Click the Save button.
Finding and Fixing an “Unknown Credential”
When access is denied because the credential has not been recognized, you can easily add this credential from the Activity tab.
Locate the failed access event on the Activity page
It can be beneficial to set a Notification for when this happens
It is recommended to first watch the video clip to confirm identity
Click on the unknown credential. The add credential page will open
Choose the format (26 bit) and the credential number will update to be recognized. Confirm this credential is allowed and should be assigned to the user in the video
Save it
Note: In some cases, clicking the link will take you to the Add Unknown Credential page but there will be nothing to choose from. This is because the data from the reader is corrupt. This is typically due to a wiring issue, bad read, or damaged credentials.
In this case, call your CSM or your Dealer
Creating a Notification for Unknown Credentials
A notification can be set to alert when an unknown credential is used. For security purposes, it can also be helpful to know when a specific credential is used many times in one day. These are managed on the Notifications tab. Multiple other cases where permission is denied can be monitored with the same notification. It can also be applied to specific users or Groups using the + icon. For more information on Notifications, read one article with an overview of notification and another specifically about Access Notifications.
