Certain symptoms can indicate the sensor may simply need to be reset:

  • “flickering” i.e. many short, strange sessions in myQ, back-to-back

  • Sensor staying on with no target present

When exhibiting such types of behavior, often the sensor simply needs to be reset. This is done by power cycling it. There are two methods of doing so.

  1. Power cycle the controller (flip the circuit breaker, disconnect, etc.)

  2. Disconnect the cable from the sensor, wait a few seconds and then reconnect (recommended option). While reconnecting the cable pay special attention that the notch on sensor aligns with the hole of the cable. ( see photos).

NOTE: the five pins in the sensor port can be subject to bending. The correct orientation must be used when plugging the cable back in. The cable itself should never be twisted, only the threaded connecting collar
